Opening Ceremony - Beginning of The Year 

The School Opening Ceremony was held on 1st September, 2021. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, our campus members were cohered in a hybrid and safe manner, through both face-to-face and live broadcast approaches. Our School Supervisor, Mrs. Fanny Lam, our Principal, Ms. Corina Chen, and I, as the Student Council president, had welcomed the whole community on the first day of school, sharing sincere thoughts and making the ceremony a great success. 

The Opening Ceremony commenced with our Principal, Ms. Chen officiating the start of the new school year. With the unprecedented challenges we have conquered throughout the pandemic, Ms. Chen provided useful strategies to enhance our well-being and emphasised the importance of acquiring life skills to make good progress in our studies and non-academic areas and to prepare for a fulfilling school year ahead. Together, we prospected for greater flexibility in learning, better utilisation of resources, and closer interpersonal relationships with classmates and teachers in this academic year.

Our School supervisor, Mrs. Lam has given us five daily assignments, so as to enable students to deal with everyday challenges, nurture positive habits, and enhance our all-round development.

Subsequently, the 2021 HKUGA Education Foundation Outstanding Student Awardee, Ms. Emily Shung shared with us thought-provoking tips on achieving success and reminded us to grasp opportunities and treasure our friendship.

Finally, I, as the 2021-2022 Student Council President representing all student leaders, brought the Ceremony to an end by highlighting our mission to connect campus members, overcome barriers and adapt to changes together as one and showed our gratitude to our Principal and all teachers.

This year’s Opening Ceremony was a success. We have proven that the use of projector screens will not stop us from being connected as one. The melodic school song marked the start of our new school year. We are ready to blossom and we look forward to enjoying our whole-day school life with our campus members soon.
