In order to raise students’ awareness of community needs and foster social wellbeing, our school held a “Pink Together” Dress Down Day on 16th October. This campaign is organised by the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, which hopes to help patients who are suffering from breast cancer. The Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation founded in 2005, dedicated to mitigating the threat of breast cancer by providing support to patients and education to the public. Students could donate $20 to wear any pink clothing items to school to support this meaningful campaign. The proceeds received on that day will be directly donated to the foundation.

On the morning of the dress-down day, a team of charity leaders stood outside the school’s general office to collect students’ donations. There were a lot of students wearing pink to school to support this campaign. Although some did not have pink clothes, they still donated to show their support. As charity leaders, we were very delighted to see such a large proportion of students willing to contribute to their society and support local non-profit organisations. Despite the challenges faced by everyone in 2020, this special campaign was able to spread love and kindness to our community.
