Mr. Joseph Lam - Tutor of S1GL

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology).  At present, I am taking a post-graduate course in Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.  As I studied in Hong Kong, I understand the style of local education and want to change things for the younger generation.

In 2004, I resigned from an engineering firm and took up a teaching post in HKUGA Primary School.  After serious consideration, I decided to be a teacher rather than an engineer because I really love teaching and seeing the growth of the students.  I believe in the “role model theory”.  Therefore as a teacher, I try to lead by example, particularly as some of my students may decide to become teachers themselves.

The HKUGA College and Primary school operate under the through-train school model.  The College started in 2006, and I really want to share my past experience in the primary school with all my colleagues here.  As a result, I decided to teach in the College instead of in the primary school.
